Mike's Barbeque Sauce

Makes about 1-1/2 Quarts


Ingredients:
2 Medium onions, chopped 2 c Brown sugar
1 Large Habanero,chopped 1 tb Chocolate syrup
2 tb Olive oil 2 tb Liquid smoke
1 29 oz can Tomato Sauce 1 ts Black pepper
2 Cloves garlic, crushed 2 Bay leaves
4 tb White vinegar Salt to taste

Saute onion and habanero with oil in a saucepan until onion is clear. Add
tomato sauce and garlic. Puree in a blender until smooth. Pour back into
saucepan and add all other ingredients except the bay leaves and 1/2 the
liquid smoke. Bring to a boil and simmer on low for about an hour stirring
regularly. Add remaining liquid smoke and bay leaves. Simmer for a few
more hours. You can mix a few tablespoons of corn starch with a little
water and stir into the sauce to thicken it a bit if you want to. Remove and
discard bay leaves. Use immediately or put in a jar and refrigerate.
