HABANERO SALSA FRESCA

Makes about 1 Quart


I made this with my home grown habaneros.

5 ea Habanero peppers

Dash Black pepper
3 Medium Tomatoes Salt to taste
1 md Onion, finely chopped 1- 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/3 cup Cilantro, finely chopped 1 1/2 ts Dried oregano
4 Cloves garlic

Finely chop and combine all fresh ingredients except garlic. Press garlic into mixture. Add salt, pepper, oregano and tomato sauce. Mix well. If you seed the peppers the sauce will be comfortably warm. If you leave them in it should be pretty hot.
Can be used as a dip with tortilla chips. The first time I made it, we used it on grilled chicken broken up into warm corn tortillas.
